   This is a rare and unique album of the Queers covering one of the greatest Ramones records in it's entirety "Rocket to Russia." Generally excepted as the second greatest Ramones record, the Queers offer up a great rendition of this classic album which is the third installment of the series/5(6).

   Apr 12,  · This is The Queers covering The Ramones entire Rocket To Russia album. Same track order, same songs, just by The Queers and not The Ramones. Might sound like a good idea to some, but why you just wouldn't listen to the originals is beyond me. Of course The Queers have a certain indebtedness to "Da Bruddas," so covering them isn't a surprise/5(6).

   Rocket to Russia boasts a cleaner production than its predecessors, which only gives the Ramones' music more force. It helps that the group wrote its finest set of songs for the album. From the mindless, bopping opening of "Cretin Hop" and "Rockaway Beach" to the urban surf rock of "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" and the ridiculous anthem "Teenage.

   The album was released on November 4, , under the name Rocket to Russia, though it had a working title of Get Well. John Gillespie directed the artwork on the album, and the cover photo was taken by Danny Fields. Arturo Vega is credited as Artistic Coordinator, and Punk magazine editor John Holmstrom illustrated for the album.
